Dr. Teyhou Smyth helps individuals and couples create meaningful, balanced lives. Drawing from Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, from an attachment perspective, she provides a compassionate and practical approach to personal growth and emotional well-being.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Dr. Smyth earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Southern California and completed an M.A. in Sociology at Goldsmiths, University of London. She went on to earn a second master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the California School of Professional Psychology and holds a doctorate in Pedagogical Sciences. Dr. Smyth was given a Recognition of Teaching Service Award in 2025 for faculty academic excellence by the Graduate School of Education and Psychology, Pepperdine University in Los Angeles.
Through her practice, Living with Finesse, Dr. Smyth helps high-achieving professionals manage stress, prevent burnout, and cultivate a healthier work-life balance. Her work focuses on emotional intelligence, resilience, and strengthening both personal and professional identity.
